Welcome to Copyright on Campus

Welcome to Copyright on Campus, an excellent resource for librarians, faculty and students who are interested in the impact of copyright law upon higher education. Topics covered will include the application of copyright law, in particular the TEACH Act, to distance education and the electronic delivery of course materials, the reconciliation of academic freedom and Fair Use, the emergence of models of scholarly communication and practices, and reaction of the publishers and producers of works to the digitization of traditional format materials, and the growth of open access as an alternative to traditional publishing models. Comments that are insightful and respectful, even if of differing opinion, are always welcome and encouraged. I look forward to engaging in intelligent dialogue about an oftentimes unintelligible area of law.
